AB-1541 - Human trafficking: data.
AB 1541 would require the Department of Justice (DOJ) to publish additional information to the OpenJustice Web portal. This information would include the number of individuals arrested and convicted for adult sex trafficking, child sex trafficking and labor trafficking, as well as the number of victims of those same crimes, as defined in California Penal Code.
AB-1593 - State agencies: revenue: report.
AB 1593 would require State Agencies that impose a monetary charge, including any fees, fines, penalties, assessments, licenses and other payments imposed by statute or regulation, to annually report on its website the
AB-1614 - Vehicles: bicycles.
AB 1614 expands existing law and prohibits “piggybacking” on bikes and e-bikes on a Class I bikeway.
AB-1651 - State Bar of California: artificial intelligence.
AB 1651 would require the State Bar of California to disclose the use of artificial intelligence (AI) generated content in developing or administering the State Bar examination. This disclosure requirement applies even if the content is reviewed or revised by a live person.OpenJustice Web portal. AB-1691 - Marine resources: copper-based antifouling paint: standards, studies, and best methods.
AB 1691 would provide regulatory clarity regarding the usage of copper-based boat paint.
AB-1918 - Human trafficking: body art practitioners.
AB 1918 would require tattoo shops to post a human trafficking notice with information on the signs of human trafficking and how to contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline. Additionally, tattoo artists would also be required to complete at least 20 minutes of training to recognize the signs of human trafficking and how to report those signs to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
AB-1951 - Civil actions: filing fees: refunds.
AB 1951 modernizes California’s court filing fee statutes to reflect current electronic payment and electronic filing practices, ensuring consistent treatment of returned, insufficient, or disputed payments regardless of payment method or filer status.include the number of individuals arrested and convicted for adult sex trafficking, child sex trafficking and labor trafficking, as well as the number of victims of those same crimes, as defined in California Penal Code.
AB-2035 - Common interest developments: declarations: amendments.
AB 2035 would amend the California Civil Code to lower, in certain limited circumstances, the percentage of owners who must vote affirmatively to amend Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&R’s) in a common interest development.
AB-2109 - California bar examination.
AB 2109 will require the Committee of Bar Examiners to replace the California Bar Examination with the National Conference of Bar Examiner’s Uniform Bar Examination, or any successor or replacement of that exam.
AB-2261 - Protective orders.
AB 2261 clarifies and restores judicial authority under Penal Code section 136.2 to issue criminal protective orders (CPOs) that protect a victim’s family and household members, along with other victims where competent evidence establishes that the defendant committed a qualifying offense against them. The bill corrects a narrowing of the statute that occurred in 2018 and ensures courts can issue protective orders consistent with victim safety and the realities of domestic violence, sexual abuse, human trafficking, and gang-related crimes.convicted for adult sex trafficking, child sex trafficking and labor trafficking, as well as the number of victims of those same crimes, as defined in California Penal Code.
AB-2284 - Electric bicycles: Attorney General list.
AB 2284 requires the Attorney General, in partnership with biking nonprofit groups, to maintain and publish an online list of e-bike products that do not comply with the state’s labeling or advertising standards.
AB-2373 - The California Coastal Act: local coastal program: sea level rise plan: neighborhood-scale adaptation approach.
AB 2373 would authorize local governments within the coastal zone to utilize the neighborhood-scale adaptation approach when completing their local coastal programs (LCPs).
AB-2562 - Alcohol or other drug recovery and treatment programs and facilities: suicide prevention.
AB 2562 would require licensed alcohol and drug treatment facilities and certified recovery programs to create a suicide prevention plan.
AB-2614 - Public health: Body Brokering and Patient Referral Integrity Act.
Body brokering is a predatory business practice in which unlicensed, third-party individuals profit from referring patients seeking addiction recovery to alcohol or drug recovery programs. While some of these programs do provide proper medical addiction and recovery treatment services, there have been many documented cases of fraud and abuse occurring at these facilities.
