The Honorable Supervisor Don Wagner
Third District Supervisor, Orange County Board of Supervisors
County Administration North

Dear Supervisor Wagner,

As a member of the state Assembly, I am writing to express my strong support for the Orange County Gang Reduction and Intervention Partnership (OC GRIP). As a lawmaker committed to community safety and youth development, I appreciate the profound impact OC GRIP has on preventing gang involvement, increasing school attendance and performance, and strengthening families across Orange County.

OC GRIP provides a uniquely effective model which bridges law enforcement, schools, community organizations and families. The program’s relationship – centered approach allows officers, prosecutors and probation officers to work collaboratively with at-risk youth long before they encounter the criminal justice system. This early engagement is essential. By fostering trust and addressing root causes, OC GRIP reduces long-term risk factors and helps redirect young people toward positive paths.

I value programs which not only address community safety but also foster genuine, lasting change. OC GRIP has consistently demonstrated measurable outcomes and transformative personal stories that reflect its success. OC GRIP, through the District Attorney’s Office, ensures safer neighborhoods and lifetimes of success for Orange County’s children.

I strongly support its continued operation and expansion as we continue to invest in the future of our children and in the future of Orange County.

Sincerely,

Diane B. Dixon
Assemblymember, 72nd Assembly District
