SACRAMENTO (September 24, 2024) – Assemblymember Diane Dixon (R-Newport Beach) will be hosting a Fentanyl Town Hall in Laguna Beach on Wednesday, October 2.
Last month Assemblymember Dixon honored National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day. Now that she is in the District, the Assemblymember is hosting an event to bring awareness and education to the fentanyl crisis.
“It is essential that we continue to speak about the pervasive issue of fentanyl and the opioid crisis,” said Assemblymember Dixon, “Join me next week to learn from a panel of experts on how to protect your family.”
Speakers from the event include Dr. Farah Khorassani, an associate clinical professor at UC Irvine School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Sergeant Gunsolley from the OC Sheriff’s Department and Perla Mendoza the founder of nonprofit Project Eli. Following the presentations, guests can watch Assemblymember Dixon’s filmed conversation with Perla Mendoza and Senator Janet Nguyen to learn more about the dangers of fentanyl and Project Eli.
The Fentanyl Town Hall will take place on Wednesday, October 2 from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center. Please call to RSVP: 949-798-7221. Attendees will receive free Narcan, a fentanyl overdose reversal agent.
