SACRAMENTO – Today Assembly Republicans gathered for a press conference at the State Capitol to speak about legislation they are putting forward to support law enforcement and Californians. Assemblymember Diane Dixon (R-Newport Beach) provided the following statement:
“My colleagues and I are thrilled to be working with law enforcement on a variety of legislative measures to ensure they have the resources they need to protect our communities.
This morning I introduced AB 330, which will help victims of domestic violence easily navigate the plethora of services and information available to them. This bill centralizes much needed information by creating a website about educational resources to help victims better understand their rights. It will additionally include readily available local and statewide services for immediate assistance.
Sadly, one in three women and one in four men will experience some form of physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime. I am hopeful this website will help those who need it most and I look forward to continue working with law enforcement to ensure our most vulnerable people, especially women and children, are protected and well served.”
Assemblywoman Diane Dixon, R-Newport Beach, is a pragmatic businesswoman and former Mayor, who represents the 72nd Assembly District in the California Legislature, which includes Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods and Lake Forest.
